Lorraine Jacquard - Dance Instructor
Lorraine teaches Salsa, West Coast Swing, Nightclub Ballad Dance and Romantic 2-Step and ballroom dances, including Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, and Tango.  She started social dancing at the age of 5 when her aunts taught her how to Swing and Be-Bop. While growing up, Lorraine kept up with the current dances and entered and won 15 dance contests, including contests on all of the teen dance programs of the era. While a ballroom dance student, Lorraine competed in 3 Pro-Am events and brought home a total of four 1st Place, eight 2nd Place and seven 3rd Place awards. Her Pro-Am competition experience gives her an appreciation for fundamentals and good technique but she loves any kind of dancing and shares that joy in her teaching.Lorraine is available to teach private lessons, groups, wedding couples, and for parties. Her specialty is teaching fundamentals and basics to beginners, making the experience fun, and adapting the lesson to fit the needs and skill level of the student(s). She is affiliated with the Palomar Ballroom, having been a staff teacher for 2 years and is currently an independent contractor, teaching group classes and private lessons at the ballroom.

'Salsa Rueda Santa Cruz' teaches fun and easy way to
dance to the hot sizzling beat of Salsa music. Shake
your hips and offer something different for your party
or event! This form of Salsa is danced in a circle. A
caller calls a fun and easy Salsa move which is done by
everyone at the same time. Constant partner change
guarantees that everyone will dance with everyone.
This group gives also instruction three nights every week in Santa Cruz,
California.
This group performs at events and shows and has
supported the community with 50 performances in 3 years.
Recipient 2002 WE Carnival Award, 2004 Calabash Award
and in 2005 featured in a special TV show.
