"Salsa Rueda Santa Cruz"
participates at the parade and performs
at the
7th Annual Monterey World Music Festival

(This was the first parade of the Monterey Music Festival. The Latin Dance Cabaret Group 'Tropicalismo' (www.tropicalismo.net) joined us during the parade!)

The parade was led by Samba Da (see picture above), a colorful Santa Cruz’s based Brazilian percussion and dance group.
With over twenty local musical and dance groups, the parade started at 11AM at Portola Plaza and culminated in a finale in front of Monterey City Hall at the Colton Hall Lawn on Pacific Street between Pearl and Madison Streets

Because no trucks or cars were allowed, we had to come up with an alternate solution to power up our sound system. We mounted our sound system on a trailer pulled by a bike. The power came from a 80 pound heavy battery which should last for at least 4 hours. Before the parade we rehearsed at the Plaza.
